------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation instructions of PROPATH v11.0 by MOMOKI, Satoru (momoki@net.nagasaki-u.ac.jp) April 2, 1999 Target Operating System of this document ----------------------------------------- Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT Linux UXP (Unix of Fujitsu's main frame system) * PROPATH group confirmed only on the Windows95, Linux and UXP system, however, the instructions for Linux in this document may be applicable for other UNIX systems. 1. Extract source-files. ----------------------------------------- + Microsoft Windows Extract files from "p11src.zip" using your favorite unzip-command like an WinZip. + Linux and UXP Extract files from "p11src.tar.gz" by following command. "gzip -cd p11src.tar.gz | tar xfp -" "p11src.zip" and "p11src.tar.gz" is in the directory "Compress". 2. Preparation for 'make' --- Modify Makefiles and/or batch files ----------------------------------------- + Microsoft Windows Check environment variables(PATH,LIB,INCLUDE) of mkvcc.bat (Visual-Fortran/Visual-C,32bit compilers) or mkmsc.bat (MS-Fortran/MS-C, 16bit compilers), and modify them if necessary. * Note: Compiler-options are described as 'FCOPT=', 'CCOPT=', e.t.c. in F-PROPATH/source/Makefile.vcc(or msc), F-PROPATH/source/bwr/Makefile.vcc(or msc), P-PROPATH/source/Makefile.vcc(or msc), A-PROPATH/source/Makefile.vcc(or msc), M-PROPATH/source/Makefile.vcc(or msc), and I-PROPATH/source/Makefile.vcc(or msc). + Linux and UXP Modify variables of Makefile.linux(for Linux) or Makefile.UXP(for UXP) on the top directory. Following are brief descriptions for some important variables. MAKEFILE= : a name of makefile BINDIR= : a directory for single-shot programs LIBDIR= : a directory for PROPATH libraries INCLUDEDIR= : not used FC=g77 : Fortran compiler FCOPT= : options for Fortran compiler CC=gcc : C compiler CCOPT= : options for C compiler LD=g77 : linker LDOPT= : linker options AR= : archiver AROPT= : archiver options Note: '*.DAT' files used by F- and M- PROPATH single-shot programs, csdmx-ss, prmx-ss and awmx-ss will be put on LIBDIR. Therefore, modify DATAFIL='...' of 'F-PROPATH/source/jcsdmxss.f', 'F-PROPATH/source/jprmxss.f', 'M-PROPATH/source/jawmxss.f', and 'M-PROPATH/source/jawmx2ss.f' properly. 3. Making PROPATH libraries ----------------------------------------- + Microsoft Windows Execute 'mkvcc.bat' or 'mkmsc.bat'. These batch-files make libraries and single-shot programs for P-PROPATH, A-PROPATH, M-PROPATH, F-PROPATH, I-PROPATH. E-PROPATH binary is already included in CD-ROM distributed. Important note: The 'mkmsc.bat' that use the 16bit compilers, *OLD* MS-Fortran/MS-C, fails making some libraries because of compiler's poor memory handling ability. PROPATH group strongly recommend to use 'mkvcc.bat' and 32bit compilers. + Linux and UXP Type make -f Makefile.linux (or UXP). 4. Installing PROPATH ----------------------------------------- + Microsoft Windows Sorry, no install-program for any Microsoft operating systems is provided by PROPATH group for the current version of PROPATH. + Linux and UXP Just type make -f Makefile.linux install or make -f Makefile.UXP install . Enjoy!
